Criteria

The organisation must be DGR1 registered

Beneficiaries must be in Australia

The initiative is designed by, or with, intended beneficiaries

Aims to establish, or further develop, progressive ideas with the potential to broaden or deepen the scale of impact

The organisation has the capability to measure outcomes


We also have preferences for projects that do the following.

Address what causes barriers to participation in learning and teaching

Builds an evidence base

Has plans to build the sustainability of the initiative so it can continue post funding

Has opportunities for employees of the Bangarra Group to get involved, such as volunteering or mentoring

What do Learning for Life Grants fund?

What are your funding focus areas?

- Teaching and learning methods that build numeracy and literacy skills - (all ages)
- Approaches that foster engagement in learning (all ages)
- Initiatives that build interpersonal, employability and workplace skills

What is excluded from funding?

- Programs with a main focus on mental health, or directly addressing illness and disease
- General fundraising projects or appeals
- Travel, study or conferences (unless incidental to a project)
- Individuals
- Applications with a religious, political or sectarian purpose

How are applications adjudicated?

An application is considered on how it demonstrates the following.
- Prudent governance and financial management
- Alignment between the project’s and the Foundation’s aims
- Articulation of KPIs and how outcomes will be measured
- The number of direct and indirect beneficiaries
- Risks
- Capability and capacity to deliver the project
- Sustainability of the project post funding

As well as one or more of the following.
- Addressing causes rather than symptoms
- Testing a new approach
- Already achieving good outcomes that can be deepened or broadened
- Taking a holistic (multidisciplinary) approach

Yes.

What other support do you offer grant partners?

The Foundation believes strongly in two-way partnerships in which both parties can learn and grow. Each grant comes with funding for a leader to build their capabilities in meaningfully influencing for impact. We also explore non-monetary support via volunteering, networking and use of the Bangarra Group buildings and facilities.
